Visit to Maritime Operation Center by Commandant of Naval War College, Goa, India.

On January 18, Commandant of Naval War College, Goa, India, Rear Admiral Arjyun Dev Nair visited Commander in Chief of the Self Defense Fleet, Vice Admiral SAITO Akira in Maritime Operation Center.
Japan and India are in “Japan-India Special Strategic and Global Partnership.” Also, the “Indo-Pacific Oceans’ Initiative: IPOI,” which India is promoting, shares many essential similarities with a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific: FOIP.”
In the conversation, they agreed to strengthen the “Japan-India Special Strategic and Global Partnership” for peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region by addressing serious security challenges together. In addition, they confirmed that the JMSDF and the Indian Navy will continue to promote defense cooperation and personnel exchanges through various exercises, port calls and regular exchanges in order to further strengthen mutual cooperation and trust.
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region to realize a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
