JS IKAZUCHI made a port call at Subic, the Republic of Philippines.

From December 8 to 10, JS IKAZUCHI made a port call at Subic, the Republic of the Philippines.
The Commanding Officer of JS IKAZUCHI, CDR TANAKA Hiroaki said, “As both Japan and the Philippines are allies of the U.S., the Philippine not only shares universal value such as freedom, democracy, and rules-based order, but also is a like-minded country for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.” During the port of call, we had a meeting with the Commanding Officer of Naval Operating Base Subic, CDR Gabriel Ataiza and Deputy Commanding Officer, LCDR Rey Sontillanosa, to develop mutual understanding and friendship with the Philippine Navy.”
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness, puts all its efforts to defend Japan by enhancing the deterrence and response capabilities of the Japan-U.S. Alliance, and contributes to peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
