SH-60K patrol aircraft from Air ASW Helicopter Squadron 21 and Air Development Squadron 51 conducted a Japan-U.S. PASSEX with the U.S. Navy MH-60R helicopter.

On November 30, SH-60K patrol aircraft from Air ASW Helicopter Squadron 21 and Air Development Squadron 51 conducted a Japan-U.S. bilateral exercise (PASSEX) with MH-60R helicopter from the U.S. Navy Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 51 in Sagami Bay.
In the exercise, Anti-Submarine Warfare exercise was carried out to improve its tactical capabilities and interoperability with the U.S. Navy.
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a Free and Open Indo-Pacific in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
