Commander in Chief, Self-Defense Fleet presented a Certificate of Appreciation to LT Hidekatsu Kajitani, Intelligence Analyst, U.S. 7th Fleet.

On September 26, Commander in Chief, Self-Defense Fleet, Vice Admiral SAITO Akira, presented a certificate of appreciation to Lieutenant Hidekatsu Kajitani, Intelligence Analyst, U.S. 7th Fleet.
Since his appointment in October 2020, LT Kajitani has made significant contributions to enhancing the interoperability between the Self Defense Fleet and the U.S. 7th Fleet with a strong sense of responsibility and a wealth of experience. In particular, he acted as an interpreter with his high level of Japanese and English language skills to accurately convey intentions of the Japanese and U.S. fleet commanders to each side on the occasions of their meetings. He also utilized his advanced information analysis skills to help deepen analysis of the situation in the Japanese and U.S. fleets. He served as a bridge between the JMSDF and the U.S. Navy, contributing greatly to strengthening the bilateral cooperation.
The Self-Defense Fleet works closely with the U.S. 7th Fleet on a regular basis to contribute to peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region for the defense of Japan and the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific”.
