JS NOSHIRO conducted a Japan-U.S. bilateral exercise.

From October 16 to 18, JS NOSHIRO conducted a Japan-U.S. bilateral exercise with an aircraft carrier USS RONALD REAGAN, cruisers USS ANTIETAM and USS ROBERT SMALLS, and a guided missile destroyer, USS SHOUP in the East China Sea.
The Commanding Officer of JS NOSHIRO, Commander WATANABE Masafumi said, “We conducted various tactical exercises (LINKEX, etc.) and improved our tactical capabilities and interoperability with the U.S. Navy. We will continue cooperating strongly with the U.S. Navy while maintaining a posture to respond to any contingency at any time in order to contribute to regional peace and stability.”
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
