JS HYUGA conducted a Japan-U.S. -ROK trilateral exercise.

From October 8 to 10, JS HYUGA conducted a Japan-U.S.-Republic of Korea trilateral exercise with USS RONALD REAGAN, USS ANTIETAM, USS ROBERT SMALLS, USS SHOUP, ROKS YULGOK YI I, and ROKS CHEONJI in the East China Sea.
The Commander of Escort Division 8, Captain IIGATANI Takahiro, who led the Japanese unit, said, “In the exercise, our three navies conducted tactical exercises in relatively stable ocean and weather to improve our tactical capabilities and strengthened cooperation with the U.S. Navy and the Republic of Korea Navy. Escort Division 8 will continue to cooperate strongly with the U.S. and the ROK navies in order to create security environment that does not tolerate any actions against the international order.”
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
