EP-3 participated in Dispatched Electromagnetic Maneuver Warfare Training in the U.S.

From September 22 to October 6, EP-3 from Air Electronic Warfare Squadron 81, Fleet Air Wing 31 conducted a facility use exercise and a bilateral exercise with U.S. Navy EP-3E, etc. in Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington.
The detachment commander, Commanding Officer, Air Electronic Warfare Squadron 81, Captain SUGAHARA Katsunori said, “We conducted a bilateral flight exercise with a U.S. Navy electronic warfare unit in Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, which is the U.S. Navy’s headquarters on electronic warfare. We strengthened cooperation and interoperability with the U.S. Navy in electronic warfare domain as well as deepened mutual understanding and friendship through the exchange of opinions by Japanese and U.S. commanders.”
The Self-Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan, but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
