Commander in Chief of the Self Defense Fleet, conducted a Bilateral Commander's Update Briefing via videoconference with Commander of the U.S. 7th Fleet.

On July 27, Vice Admiral SAITO Akira, Commander in Chief of the Self Defense Fleet, conducted a Bilateral Commander's Update Briefing (Bi-CUB) via videoconference (VTC) with Vice Admiral Karl Thomas, Commander of the U.S. 7th Fleet, who was onboard USS Blue Ridge, which is being deployed overseas.
Like they talked with each other in this way, the fleet commanders of Japan and the U.S. are ready for dialogue at any time and maintaining close and strong partnership that contributes to strengthening the deterrence and response capabilities of the Japan-U.S. Alliance.
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness, puts all its efforts to defend Japan in support of the Japan-U.S. Alliance, and contributes to peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region for the realization of a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific" in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
