The 45th Deployment Surface Force Counter Piracy Enforcement (DSPE), JS IKAZUCHI made a port call at Mina Salman, the Kingdom of Bahrain.

During 1-3 July, the 45th Deployment Surface Force Counter Piracy Enforcement (DSPE), JS IKAZUCHI made a port call at Mina Salman, the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Commanding Officer of JS IKAZUCHI, Commander TANAKA Hiroaki said, “Bahrain is an important center of international initiatives for maritime security in Middle Eastern waters, as Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) including Combined Task Force 151 (CTF151), which is responsible for anti-piracy actions, and U.S.-led International Maritime Security Construct (IMSC)’s command are located there. Through courtesy calls and discussions with the Commander of CTF151 and the Deputy Commander of the CMF, I was able to understand the current situation in this important region. I was also very glad to deepen mutual understanding and friendship with the Royal Bahrain Naval Force.”
The Self-Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
