The 45th Deployment Surface Force Counter Piracy Enforcement (DSPE), JS IKAZUCHI made a goodwill visit in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

During 22-23 June, the 45th Deployment Surface Force Counter Piracy Enforcement (DSPE), JS IKAZUCHI made a goodwill visit at Colombo, the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
The Commanding Officer of JS IKAZUCHI, Commander TANAKA Hiroaki said, “Colombo is a strategically important port for maritime traffic in the Indian Ocean. Through the visit and various exchange programs, we deepened mutual understanding and friendship with the Sri Lanka Navy. We will continue to strive for safe navigation to our mission area.”
The Self-Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
