JS HAGURO conducted Japan- U.S. bilateral Ballistic Missile Defense Exercise.

Jun 19, JS HAGURO conducted JAPAN-U.S. bilateral Ballistic Missile Defense exercise with USS JOHN FINN in the Sea of Japan.
It is totally unacceptable that North Korea’s repeated ballistic missile launches, including ICBM, had landed within the Japanese Exclusive Economic Zone in the Sea of Japan, seriously threaten peace and security of Japan, East Asia, and the international community.
The exercise was conducted to practice connecting networks among each Aegis ships and sharing information of ballistic missiles. Through the exercise, we reaffirmed the strong intention between Japan and the United States to respond to any situation and the readiness of the JMSDF and U.S. Navy, improved our tactical capabilities and joint response capabilities for ballistic missile defense, and further strengthened the deterrence and response capabilities of the Japan-U.S. Alliance amid an increasingly severe security environment surrounding Japan.
The Self-Defense Fleet maintains maximum readiness not only for the defense of Japan, but also to contribute to peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, working with allied and like-minded navies to maintain rules-based maritime order.
