SH-60K from Air Development Squadron 51 conducted a Japan-U.S. bilateral exercise with the U.S. Navy MH-60R.

On May 25 2023, SH-60K from Air Development Squadron 51 conducted a Japan-U.S. bilateral exercise with MH-60R from the U.S. 7th Fleet in Sagami Bay.
Through the exercise, the JMSDF improved its tactical capabilities and interoperability with the U.S. Navy for ASW.
The Self-Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific" in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
