Visit to Maritime Operation Center by Commander, Fleet Information Warfare Command Pacific/Information Warfare Task Force (TF501), Pacific, U.S. Navy.

On May 16, Commander, Fleet Information Warfare Command Pacific/Information Warfare Task Force (TF501), Pacific, U.S. Navy, Rear Admiral Michael Vernazza and Commander, Naval Information Warfighting Development Center, Captain Bryan Braswell visited Commander in chief of Self Defense Fleet, Vice Admiral SAITO Akira.
In a conversation, they shared the same awareness about security challenges surrounding Japan and confirmed a strong relationship of trust between the JMSDF and the U.S. Navy. They also agreed to strengthen deterrence and response capabilities of the Japan-U.S. Alliance.
In addition, prior to the conversation, a staff talk was led by the Japanese counterpart, Commander of Fleet Intelligence Command, Captain INABA Yosuke. They agreed to continuously enhance cooperation in the area of Information Warfare, through combined exercises.
The Self-Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific" in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
