Fleet Air Wing 2 P-3C conducted a Japan-U.S. bilateral exercise with U.S. Navy CTF72 P-8A.

During April 19-20, Fleet Air Wing 2 P-3C patrol aircraft conducted a Japan-U.S. bilateral exercise with U.S. Navy CTF72 P-8A patrol aircraft in the Pacific Ocean to improve their tactical capabilities for ASW and interoperability with the U.S. Navy.
Each subordinate force of the Self Defense Fleet works closely with its counterpart of the U.S. Navy to strengthen deterrence and response capabilities of the Japan-U.S. Alliance and maintain a free and open maritime rules-based order.
The Self-Defense Fleet maintains responsiveness, ensures peace and stability of Japan, continues to cooperate with allied and like-minded navies, and contributes to the stability in the Indo-Pacific region in order to realize a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific."
