JS IZUMO and JS TAKANAMI conducted a trilateral exercise with the Royal Canadian Navy and Royal New Zealand Navy

On 9 August, the Indo-Pacific Deployment 2022 (IPD22) unit, JS IZUMO and JS TAKANAMI conducted a trilateral exercise with the Royal Canadian Navy HMCS WINNIPEG and Royal New Zealand Navy HMNZS AOTEAROA in the Pacific Ocean.
Through this exercise, in addition to improving its tactical capabilities and strengthening cooperation between JMSDF, Royal Canadian Navy and Royal New Zealand Navy, demonstrated maintain solid ties of the three countries toward the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific”.
The Self-Defense Fleet remains responsive, continue to integrate with friendly navies, safeguards the peace and security of Japan, and contributes to the stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
