JS CHOKAI conducted bilateral exercise with USS Benfold

From August 14-15, JS CHOKAI conducted bilateral exercise with USS Benfold in the East China Sea.
The Commanding Officer of JS CHOKAI, CAPT JO Takemasa, stated, “This bilateral exercise enhanced our tactical skills and interoperability between JMSDF and the U.S. Navy. Together with our allies, who share universal values and strategic interests, we will work hard to further strengthen the cooperation between Japanese and the U.S. naval forces in the field so that we can build a seamless defense system and ensure the peace and security of Japan.”
Despite COVID-19, The Self-Defense Fleet remains responsive and enhances deterrence and response capabilities based on the Japan-U.S. alliance, safeguards the peace and security of Japan, and contributes to support stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
