米海軍少佐　ジャックリン・バーミリヨ・ハーマン

I am Jacquelyn Vermillo Herman. I was appointed as the 26th Officer Candidate School Liaison Officer from the United States Navy on July 27th, 5th year of Reiwa.

初めまして、私はジャックリン・バーミリヨ・ハーマンと申します。令和5年７月２７日に幹部候補生学校第２６代米海軍連絡官として着任しました。

I enlisted in the United States Navy in 2004 and received my commission as a Naval Officer through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps program in 2009. I served onboard the USS SHILOH (CG 67) in Yokosuka as the Gunnery Officer, onboard the USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) in Yokosuka as the Machinery Division Officer, at the Chief of Naval Personnel Command, Manpower, Personnel, Training, and Education Department in Washington DC, as the Surface and Sub-Surface Requirements Officer, and at the US Embassy in the Philippines as the Maritime Operations Officer.

私は、２００４年に下士官として米海軍に入り、２００９年に海軍予備役将校訓練課程を卒業して、士官になりました。その後、横須賀の巡洋艦シャイローの砲術士官、原子力空母ジョージ・ワシントンの機材部門士官として勤務しました。また、ワシントンD.Cでは米海軍人事部で人事、訓練、教育部の艦艇士官として勤務、フィリピンでは、アメリカ大使館の海上作戦士官として勤務してきました。

During these tours, I participated in multiple deployments and operations to include Operation Tomodachi and Operation Damayan, as well as bilateral and multilateral exercises such as COBRA GOLD, KEEN SWORD, VALIANTS SHIELD, CARAT, MALABAR, and FOAL EAGLE.

その間、東日本大震災のトモダチ作戦やフィリピンのハイヤン台風でのダマヤン作戦などに従事し、様々な共同訓練にも参加しました。

I look forward to working with fellow staff and students at the JMSDF Maritime Officer Candidate School. It would be a great honor to assist in the education and development of future officers of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Forces.

私は海上自衛隊幹部候補生学校のスタッフや候補生たちと一緒に働けることを楽しみにしてきました。将来の海上自衛隊の士官の教育・育成に協力できることを大変光栄に思います。
