海上自衛隊幹部候補生学校長
海上自衛隊幹部候補生学校長の渡邉です。

３月１６日、第７４期一般幹部候補生課程と第７６期飛行幹部候補生課程の卒業式を挙行し、約２６０名の初任の幹部海上自衛官を送り出しました。
巣立ちゆく卒業生の顔は達成感に満ち、目にはうっすらと涙を浮かべている者もおりました。
学生期間中にお世話になった方々との惜別の涙、あるいは何事かを成し遂げた感無量の涙かと思うと、見送る私どもも胸が熱くなりました。
こうして海上自衛隊及び日本の国防の未来を担う人材を送り出せたことは、学校職員一同のこの上ない喜びであり、教育中に皆様から賜りました多大のご支援に、心より感謝を申し上げます。
さて、令和６年度も、４月６日の第７５期一般幹部候補生課程及び第７期医科歯科看護科幹部候補生課程の入校を皮切りに、幹部候補生の教育が始まりました。
前年度から教育を継続している幹部予定者課程の学生と合わせ、現時点で約３００名の幹部海上自衛官を目指す者が本校に学んでおります。
私どもは、「わが国の平和と独立を守り、国の安全を保つ」という自衛隊の使命に共感し、この大きな意義のために働くことを決意し入校した本校学生を、引き続き、しっかりと育てていきたいと思っております。

I am Rear Admiral Watanabe, the Superintendent of Maritime Officer Candidate School (MOCS).
Thank you very much for visiting the MOCS website.
On March 16th, we held the graduation ceremony for the 74th General Line Officer Candidate Course and the 76th Aviation Officer Candidate Course and sent off about 260 first-time Self Defense Force officers.
The faces of the graduates were filled with a sense of accomplishment, and some had tears in their eyes.
Our hearts were warmed as we saw them off, thinking that they were tears of farewell to those of us who helped them during their student years, or tears of emotion at having accomplished something.
All of us school staff are extremely happy to have been able to send out such capable individuals who will be responsible for the future of the JMSDF and the national defense of Japan. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for all the support you have given during their education.
Now, we have started the 2024 academic year with the admission of the 75th General Line Officer Candidate Course and the 7th Medical, Dental, and Nursing Office Candidate Course students during the entrance ceremony held on April 6th.
Together with the students in selected officer courses who have been continuing their education since the previous year, there are currently 300 officer candidates studying in the school who aspire to become JMSDF officers.
We would like to continue to nurture the students of our school who share the JSDF mission to “protect the peace and independence of our country and maintain its security” and who have joined our school with the determination to work for this cause.
