The international community today is based on mutual reliance, and no country will prosper unless the world is at peace. As our country works for world peace and stability, it is important to make the maximum peaceful and humanitarian contributions.
In recent years, there has been an increase in the opportunities to be involved in cooperative activities to maintain international peace. In this regard, the Maritime Self-Defense Force has been engaged in numerous efforts including minesweeping in the Persian Gulf, activities in the Indian Ocean in accordance with the Anti-Terrorism Special Measures Law and the Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI). In addition, we have actively been promoting bilateral and multilateral exercises, security dialogues, and defense exchanges.
