Successful completion of the Patriot system (PAC-3) flight test in New Mexico, United States (September 17, 2008)

The Japan Air Self-Defense Force conducted a flight test of the Patriot system (PAC-3), which had been upgraded with the BMD operational capability, at White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) in New Mexico, United States at 07:55 a.m. local time on September 17, 2008 (10:55 p.m. Japan Time on September 17, 2008). The flight test was a success in intercepting a target simulating a ballistic missile.
