Following the approval of the Implementation Plan for the International Peace Cooperation Assignment in Haiti and the Government Ordinance for Establishment of the International Peace Cooperation Units in Haiti and Other Matters at today’s Cabinet meeting, the Ministry of Defense held a Defense Conference meeting and issued the Ministerial Order for Operation of the Self-Defense Forces (SDF) concerning the Implementation of the International Peace Cooperation Assignment in Haiti.
The overview of the Order for Operation of the SDF is as follows:
Following approval at the Security Council meeting and the Cabinet meeting today, the Chief of the International Peace Cooperation Headquarters (Prime Minister) requested the implementation of the international peace cooperation assignment by SDF units and others. Accordingly, the Commander of the GSDF Central Readiness Force, the Commander of the MSDF Self-Defense Fleet, and the Commander of the ASDF Air Support Command shall organize the necessary units and implement activities in line with the Implementation Plan and the Implementation Guidelines.
