North Korea's Missile Launch (March 6, 2017)

1. Today, at approximately 7:34 a.m., it seems that four ballistic missiles were launched from the west coast of North Korea and three of them fell into Japan's exclusive economic zone.

2. Following the launch, the Minister of Defense gave an instruction to keep taking all possible measures for intelligence gathering and analysis, and surveillance. The MOD is doing its best to deal with the situation, including convening a senior official's meeting chaired by the Minister.

3. The MOD/Self-Defense Forces will keep making utmost efforts as well as conducting intelligence gathering and analysis, and surveillance based on the Minister's instruction. The MOD will immediately release any further information when obtaining information that should be additionally released.
