On November 19th, the MSDF participated in an international naval review hosted by the Royal New Zealand Navy. The naval review was held in Auckland, New Zealand. The Takanami and two aircraft from the MSDF participated in the naval review as it aims to promote mutual understanding and friendship between participating countries and to provide an international experience for dispatched units.

The Takanami also participated in ADMM-Plus Maritime Security Exercise called MAHI TANGAROA, while the P-1 aircraft took part in the multilateral joint exercise called NGATAHI organized by the Royal New Zealand Navy. Both exercises were held on the seas and in the skies around Auckland.
