KAKADU 2016

The MSDF took part in KAKADU 2016, multinational maritime joint exercise, hosted by the Royal Australian Navy from September 12th to 24th. 19 countries in total including Japan participated in the exercise, which took place in the waters and air in and around Darwin, Australia. They carried out various training, such as anti-submarine, surface-to-ship, surface-to-air exercises, firing training, and tactical maneuver training. The MSDF sent DD Fuyuduki and P-3C aircraft to the exercise with the purpose of improving its tactical combat skills and enhancing mutual understanding and trust with other participating countries.
