The JDF celebrates the milestone of 70th issues in November 2015 since the launch of the brochure in 2006. The JDF will strive to continue delivering various MOD/SDF news to the readers around the globe in the year of 2016.

Let us briefly introduce SDF unit’s preparation of passing the old year for welcoming the New Year. At the end of the year, the MSDF unit handcrafted kadomatsu (New Year’s pine and bamboo decoration) in ingenious ways. The kadomatsu was put at the main gate of MSDF Kure Regional District Headquarters and in front of MSDF vessels for welcoming the New Year.

*The Kadomatsu is a traditional decoration during the New Year’s period and regarded as a temporary housing for the deities of the year, which bless people to live happily in a new year. You can see the Kadomatsu at home’s entrance or gate.

All the back issues of the JDF are available at http://www.mod.go.jp/e/jdf/back_issues.html.
