60 years have passed since the Coastal Safety Force was established as a predecessor of the Maritime Self-Defense Force (MSDF) on April 26, 1952 in the former grounds of the Torpedo School of the former Imperial Japanese Navy (currently the 2nd Service School) in Taura, Yokosuka city.
