 The JMOD conducted a capacity building assistance project for the Philippines and Thailand with the United States, Australia and the Republic of Korea as part of the Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI) exercise Pacific Shield 2018. This project focused on responding to threats from radioactive substances.
 The United States, Australia, the Republic of Korea and Japan held a seminar about response methods to radioactive substances, and Japan held a training session in the JGSDF Chemical School.
